Last weekend was the first time that any GTA VI gameplay had been seen. But it was nothing legal, but it is the result of a series of videos made with a leaked build of the game through a Rockstar Games hack.
With that hack, about 1TB of data has been leaked, and among them is code from both GTA V and GTA VI, and an unfinished version of the game. It is speculated that this leaked version may be about three years old.
GTA VI has been seen, but not as Rockstar wanted
The last few days it has been seen how about 90 different videos appeared on YouTube with said build of GTA VI. Apparently, it would be one made several years ago, possibly testing how the game engine adapts with certain changes, to the physics and how it is combined with the functions of the game. Anything that is shown graphically is most likely not significant at all, since such an old build is rarely representative of the final product. An example of this is that you can see that it has a female playable protagonist, but this could well be a test model.
Taking advantage of the leak, a user has asked RockStar Games for a payment in cryptocurrencies to withdraw the source code and the build, but it turned out that it was not the initial cracker. Take Two has been removing from YouTube all the videos it has found with said leaked build, which gives some validity to the leak that it is official. But as we said, being such an old build, it is most likely that very little of what has been shown will be in the final game in that exact way.
RockStar Games, meanwhile, has confirmed that GTA V code has indeed been leaked and more. With GTA V code, base game exploits could be created, such as creating exploits and cheats for GTA V and its Online mode, so that someone could find bugs and generate large amounts of money. But one thing they have said is that they will not delay the release of GTA VI from their release schedule because of this leak, no matter how many negative reviews have been generated by videos of an incredibly old version of the game that is not representative of the final game.
