Final Fantasy VIII is getting a remaster this year
Final Fantasy VIII will receive a new version for PC and console throughout 2019. Most of the graphics have been updated, leaving almost everything playable identical to the original game.
In Square Enix conference at E3 one of the least expected announcements is that of the Final Fantasy VIII remaster. If he Final Fantasy VII remake is on the right track despite being a gigantic game, now it's the turn of one of the most forgotten games of the saga: Final Fantasy VIII, which will receive a simple remaster for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

This game is one of the most divisive of the fans, which went through more pain than glory to come out shortly after many were in awe of Final Fantasy VII. In addition, the link system is one of the most divisive, with defenders who appreciate the fact of giving you enormous freedom when offering roles for your characters and others who criticize it for being highly exploitable, even in the first hours of the game, that unbalanced advancement without the need for complex tricks.
Squall, Rinoa and company return in a remaster that nobody expected
Final Fantasy VIII already came out on PC and new iterations of PlayStation with some improvements, but being mostly the same game with replaced controls. Now it will be a game with the present generation in mind, with better graphics in the modeling and textures, but keeping some parts, such as the 4: 3 screen ratio and some pre-rendered backgrounds that have not aged in the best way.
At the moment they have not given an exact date, but we know that it will end up arriving throughout 2019, with what little development remains. It remains to be seen if they offer options that the PC version had, such as being able to use cheats and how they adapt some parts that required connection with external devices to unlock special objects in the game.
