Fortnite suffers a security breach that affects only users without active two-step verification

They detect a serious security flaw in Fortnite that would have affected only users who did not have two-step verification activated.

The Battle Royale mode became popular with PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. This game that got to pass one million simultaneous players has been surpassed by Fortnite from Epic Games. It is because the game from Epic Games is completely free. It has attracted thousands of players to a title where the items you can buy are cosmetics. This has allowed Epic Games to generate billions in revenue. Well, a security flaw has been detected in the game by which the account of users who do not have active two-step authentication can be accessed.

Serious security flaw in Fortnite

Through the security hole an attacker can take control of the user's account. It is especially serious for those who had a credit / debit card associated with in-game purchases. A problem that was found in November and communicated to the company quickly. Those who detected the security breach reported to have the problem corrected. It seems that the company only took a couple of days to fix the security hole. It was not public at this time, although it has finally seen the light.

This hole could be exploited by sending a false link sent to users, obtaining access credentials. It allowed access to username and password and take control of the account at any time. The message promised Fortnite elements for free, which of course, were never given.

Above all, the biggest problem is that attackers could access credit / debit card numbers. So users who will not use two-step access are vulnerable. Epic Games has been insistent that users use two-step access, even giving away cosmetic items for those who activate it. It is unknown how many users have been affected.
