When Epic Games announced its digital store and the exclusives it stole from Steam, a great controversy arose. Above all, users attacked Epic Games, which was only trying to create a more attractive platform for developers. After the waters calm down and with the passage of time we see that the proposal was not crazy, as the data reflects.
We can see that the strategy of temporarily giving away games by Epic Games in their store works excellently. Both GTA V and Civilization VI have notably increased in players and revenue. Such information is sure to be handled by other developers and more extensive and first-hand.
We can also see that the game that has generated the most money on PC is League of Legends. On consoles, the one that has generated the most is FIFA 20 and on smartphone the Peacekeeper Elite. Counter Strike: Global Offensive stands out from the list, which falls in revenue by 9% and in players by 6%. The lack of content is evident in the game, which receives updates in a very limited way.
