Halo Infinite is delayed to 2021 and will not come out this Christmas

Halo Infinite was going to be the console seller of Xbox series X this Christmas, but it is going to 2021. Its development has been strongly affected by the coronavirus.

Halo Infinite was expected to be the biggest title of the Xbox series X launch window. If there was one game that many people have been waiting for years, that is the new Halo Infinite. But it has had to be delayed until 20221 according to a recent announcement from 343 Industries.

We won't have Halo Infinite until 2021

The Halo Infinite development team has put out the following note regarding the game's delay on Xbox One and Xbox series X until sometime in 2021.

Today we want to share an important update on Halo Infinite development with the community. We have made the difficult decision to move our release to 2021. We do so to ensure that the team has enough time to deliver a Halo gaming experience that meets our vision.

The decision to change our launch is the result of multiple factors that have contributed to the development challenges. We include ongoing impacts related to COVID-19 that is affecting us all this year. It is not sustainable for the well-being of our team or for the overall success of the game to expect to publish it this Christmas.

We know this will be disappointing for many of you and we all share that sentiment. The passion and support that the community has shown over the years has been incredible and inspiring. We want nothing more than to play our game with the community this Christmas. The extra time will allow us to finish the critical work necessary to deliver the most ambitious Halo game ever with the quality we know our fans have come to expect.

Thanks for your support and understanding.

With this, Microsoft is left without the biggest game for the launch of Xbox series X. It was going to be one of the reasons why to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass and try the xCloud technology for those who do not have any of the consoles.
