Dark raids are coming to Pokémon Go
Niantic has announced a new great novelty for Pokémon Go: The dark raids. In the context of the game, shadows spread across the world as Team GO Rocket grows ever bolder.
Now, the Team GO Rocket team has discovered how to use dark pokemon in order to defend the Gyms. These new Dark Raids are unlike any other challenge already present in Pokémon GO.

Also, Dark Mewtwo will return to Pokémon GO in Dark Raids. We may be able to meet you a Dark Shiny Mewtwo for the first time in Pokémon GO if we're lucky.
From Monday, May 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, May 28, 2023, at 20:00 p.m. local time, the Dark Raids debut event will take place. Dark Mewtwo will appear in Five Star Dark Raids from Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 20:00 p.m.
Gyms not under the control of Team GO Rocket will still be able to host other raids. From Monday, May 22, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 20:00 p.m. local time, most Gyms will host Dark Raids. From 10:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m. (local time) on Saturday, May 27, 2023, Team GO Rocket activity will be triggered, taking control of all raids.

The following Pokémon will appear in raids. Gyms may be controlled by Dark Raid Bosses or one of the following Raid Bosses.
One star raids
- Clefairy
- tentacool
- Marill
- Scrape

three star raids

- Lapras
- Mawile
- Empoleon
five star raids
- Regigigas will appear in raids from Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 10:00.
- Tapu Fini will appear in raids until Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 10:00 AM.
Mega raids
- Mega-Pinsir will appear in raids until Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 10:00.
- Mega-Altaria will appear in raids from Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 10:00.
The following Pokémon will be appearing in the wild more frequently:
- ekans
- Golbat
- coffee
- Houndour
- Poochyena
- stunky
- Crusted
- Hiswil's Qwilfish
- scratchy
- And if you're lucky, you might even come across a Shiny!
As an event bonus, Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons. On the part of field research, there will be tasks focused on defeating Team GO Rocket and capturing Pokémon. Trainers will be able to earn a Mysterious Component and reward Stardust.

Special Research can be claimed until the end of Season 10: Rising Heroes, which will be on June 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Finally, the following new avatar poses will be available in the cosmetic store, so we can show off in the gyms we conquer and in which we leave a Pokémon.
