Kingdom Hearts IV announced, although without platform or year of release

On the occasion of the XNUMXth anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts franchise in Japan, Square Enix celebrated the anniversary with a special commemorative streaming. In addition to announcing a lot of merchandising and a new mobile title, its star streaming ad was Kingdom Hearts IV, with a first official trailer.

It should be said that this is not a mobile spinoff nor Nintendo Switch, but a new adventure of the main branch. It is to be expected that it will start a new series of main games, because with Kingdom Hearts III and his DLC, Tetsuya Nomura wanted to close everything to give rise to new stories.

Kingdom Hearts IV is passed to the most realistic visual section

For now everything we can say and comment on the game has been seen in the official trailer. First of all, it stands out from Kingdom Hearts IV its most realistic visual aspect, so that the characters seem less anime and less plastic, at least the ones that are human and not based on Disney movies. It is very likely that Square Enix has switched to using Unreal Engine 5, and since they have always shown very focused on their games being visually cutting edge, have decided that this is the art style of the game, or at least its first trailer.

At the time they wanted that with Final Fantasy XIII They will release a new graphics engine for games in high definition, which only served them for this game, its two sequels, Dragon Quest X, and the failed version of Final Fantasy XIV, and was abandoned because it wasn't capable of rendering many characters on screen. For Final Fantasy XV they decided to try again and their Luminous Engine gave acceptable results, but it only worked for that one game. Unreal Engine is an engine that they have been adapting to, since they have adopted it for HD-2D games like Octopath Traveler, and the remake of Final Fantasy VII.

About Kingdom Hearts VI, No release date or platform has been confirmed.. Because it will most likely use Unreal Engine 5, it is expected to come out on PC and Xbox series and PlayStation 5. It is almost unfeasible to come out on Playstation 4 and Xbox One because the game may take a few years to come out and by then those consoles will be abandoned. Without further ado, we leave the announcement trailer below for you to judge whether or not the visual change suits the game well.
