According to the Polish company CD Projekt, there is an expansion for the game that will be released this year. Some rumors suggest that the new content will arrive in the summer, as stated by Polish broadcasters and influencers Rock and Borys, although we will have to wait to verify it. For now, what the game company assures is that we will see multiple details of the DLC before its release.
The new expansion, which will be called "Phantom Liberty," was announced before we were even able to play the game, so it's been on the minds of the creators for years. However, due to the numerous errors that Cyberpunk 2077 has had since its launch, it is likely that the expansion is taking time to wait with the aim of improving the experience of the players, both in the base game and in the expansion. The controversy of the game's constant errors is still present, so its DLC should ensure a minimum quality.
For now, we have been able to see that Phantom Liberty will have a new character named Solomon Reed, who is played by the famous actor Idris Elba. The action will take place in a new district of Night City, and our mission will deal with themes of survival and espionage. As seen in the DLC trailer, Reed, an FIA agent, feels disappointed with the government of his country, so he decides to go to someone else to solve certain issues. The latter will translate into numerous missions that we will have to solve during our adventure.
Therefore, the new DLC will follow the line of the main game, in which we become V, a mysterious customizable character who acquires a cybernetic implant that will change his life. In the initial title, we soon realize that the implant keeps the memories of another user that will try to override those of the protagonist, so we will have to learn to cooperate to find a solution. Meanwhile, we will live numerous adventures in endless places.
Between the most remarkable spaces that we can explore, you can highlight the detailed streets of the available districts, where we can find shops, factories and parks. Likewise, there are also some hidden areas, such as the casino, which we can access through the “Tyger and Vulture” mission. In it we will find typical live casino games, just like roulette, which although today it is a game with considerable variants such as Express Roulette or Quantum Roulette, for now it is not playable in Cyberpunk 2077. You can also see some screens that could be slot machines or some kind of arcade game.
