The Simpsons will be at E3, for some reason

The producers and writers of The Simpsons will be at the video game fair in two weeks. On Tuesday of the same event they will have a presentation at the E3 Coliseum space.

A bit weird news now: The Simpsons will be at E3. The official account of the event on twitter has confirmed that the family will have a presence at the Los Angeles fair in the E3 Coliseum space on Tuesday 11 at 6 in the afternoon, which comes to be three in the morning from Tuesday to Wednesday in the Iberian Peninsula.

What are The Simpsons doing at E3?

Just that we wonder. The account of the fair says that the producers and scriptwriters of the series will be there without specifying what they have to announce. Clearly they are not going to say anything because they want to keep us in suspense and with certain secrets so that there are surprises.

Now ... The Simpsons and video games? The Springfield family has had dozens of games from Bart vs. The Space Mutants in 1991, to the most recent The Simpsons Tapped Out on mobile. Of course, that game came out in 2013, and that means we've been without a game in the series for six years. Many of those games are forgettable or horrible implements like The Simpsons Wrestling, but installments such as the arcade, Hit & Run or the 2007 title for consoles were very well received.

The best we can hope for is an announcement related to the Simpsons video games at that conference at E3. Writers and producers are often contractually required to observe the development of the game so that it is faithful, and Disney, which recently acquired its ownership by acquiring Fox's assets, uses its licenses a lot to assign them to developers. In the most predictable of cases, it will be a mobile game, but idealistically a new console adventure by passionate developers could make for a very entertaining game. And it would easily be more fun than the most recent episodes of the series, one of them related to the world of eSports.
