Microsoft and Sony team up to create a streaming gaming platform
Microsoft and Sony announced a collaboration announcement in the development of a streaming gaming platform.
If we ask about consoles, surely the first two that they will tell us are Microsoft's Xbox and Sony's PlayStation. A rivalry in the console market that has been established for many years. Both companies compete for a fairly exclusive market. Well, Microsoft and Sony seem to have reached a strategic agreement. The two companies will share information, technology and infrastructure with streaming gaming services in mind. This streaming gaming service in the cloud will be based on the Microsoft Azure infrastructure.

The two companies have also emphasized their collaboration on semiconductor development and artificial intelligence. While they will pursue separate console markets, they will work together on a digital gaming service—a key strategy to compete with Google and its Stadia platform . Rumors suggest that the Sony PlayStation 5 and the upcoming Microsoft Xbox One will be the last consoles released by both companies.
"The PlayStation itself was produced by integrating creativity and technology," Sony President Kenichiro Yoshida said during the announcement. “Our mission is to seamlessly evolve this platform as one that continues to deliver the best and most immersive entertainment experiences, along with a cloud environment that ensures the best possible experience, anytime, anywhere. For many years, Microsoft has been a key business partner for us, although of course the two companies have been competing in some areas as well. I believe that our joint development of future cloud solutions will go a long way toward advancing interactive content. "
"Sony has always been a leader in both entertainment and technology, and the collaboration we announce today builds on this history of innovation," added Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft. "Our partnership brings the power of Azure and Azure AI to Sony to deliver new games and entertainment experiences for customers."
