Nintendo has finalized production of the Wii U in Japan, and they will focus on marketing their new console, Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Japan has already ceased the manufacture of Wii U, the console that was born as the successor to Wii and that did not finish curdling among its users for various different reasons. The company will focus on the production and marketing of units on its new console, Nintendo Switch. Nintendo, yes, has revealed the total of units sold since it began to be marketed. From 2012 to this year, Wii U has sold 13,65 million units worldwide.
Through the Japanese page of Kotaku mentioned in section hardware that the production of the Wii U consoles have ended. Specifically, the website refers to the domestic market. Kotaku has contacted Nintendo of America to clarify if this cessation of units also includes the rest of the world but at the moment there is no official response.
Wii U was launched in 2o12 and its global sales reached 13,65 million units sold worldwide with a current catalog of more than 100 games released in the world market. Nintendo hopes to repeat or exceed the sales success as it was in its year with Wii. Nintendo has many exclusive and multiplatform games announced to regain lost trust in its fans with a new desktop and portable console.
