NVIDIA and Tencent partner to create START, the Chinese Google Stadia
The Google Stadia platform has generated a revolution within the video game industry. There are many moves by different big players in the industry, especially Sony and Microsoft, to compete with Google. The latest move is that of Tencent, the Chinese video game giant that has closed an agreement with NVIDIA. Both companies have come together to develop the START platform.
This START platform is a version of gaming in the cloud very similar to the one proposed by Google. Tencent's platform is only intended for the Chinese market, the most important at present. Will be based on server-based solutions NVIDIA GeForce graphics. It is expected to offer Ray Tracing technology for games.

Tencent has released a statement to announce START that will give Chinese players access to Triple A titles. It will allow users to access these games "on low-power devices anytime, anywhere." Steven Ma, Executive Vice President of Tencent explains that NVIDIA has experience in cloud gaming with GeForce Now. They also highlight that GeForce Now is already available in Japan in collaboration with Softbank and in South Korea with LG Uplus.
START will be built through a joint laboratory between NVIDIA and Tencent, to innovate in gaming. They will seek to "explore new applications for AI in games, optimizations of game graphics engines and new lighting techniques such as Ray Tracing and Light Baking"
