Age of Empires II has more than a million players a month and the number continues to increase

It is almost 20 years old, but Age of Empires II has more than a million players a month and the number continues to increase, which is impressive.

One of the most important games in history is Age of Empires II. The Microsoft Studios game is one of the most important timeless classics. It can almost be said that any gamer should play it at some point in his life. A game that is very much alive, despite having been released on the market on September 30, 1999.

It is so alive that Adam Isgreen, creative director of this saga, has highlighted that there are more than a million gamers who play it every month. A really spectacular figure for a game that is almost 20 years old now. And that the Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition has not yet been released, a revision of the classic with improved graphics.

More than a million gamers enjoy Age of Empires II every month

Isgreen in an interview said: "We have more than a million people per month playing Age of Empires games, and the numbers keep increasing." Although it does not refer directly to the second installment, everything points to it. Whatever edition it is, since over time there have been several reissues.

"It can't be homesick, right?" Isgreen wonders. He also adds: “There are new people coming to the franchise and playing it, and I think something interesting is that many RTS games have a hidden demand, and the numbers prove this, asking for more“ thinking games ”, games that require plans, strategy. and think."

Regarding Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition we do not have a release date yet. Supposedly it should have arrived this past spring, but nothing. The game will have 4K resolutions, the audio has been improved and new animations have been added. The essence is still intact in this new installment. It would be lovely if the game was released on September 30, just 20 years after the original game was released.
