CD Projekt RED: Grounds the controversy of cinematics

CD Projekt RED wanted to end all controversy about Cyberpunk 2077 with an explanatory statement through its Twitter account

The cinematics shown in the latest Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay footage have sparked controversy and discontent within the community. A few days ago, CD Projekt RED announced that the cinematics would be in first-person to enhance immersion; we will almost never see our character's full body during gameplay. The studio argues that the first-person view offers greater realism and immersion, setting it apart from other games by the company, such as The Witcher 3. While this is a positive development for the developers, it is not for the players, as most are unhappy with CD Projekt RED's shift in perspective.

CD Project RED defends the use of the first person camera, while the community opposes

There are people who do not understand why they put so much customization of the character in the game if later we will not be able to see it. It is known that even the sex scenes will be in the first person, something that has also raised controversy. The study wanted to end the controversy or put ground in the middle, through a statement on Twitter:

«Some news reports have said that there will only be first-person in Cyberpunk 2077 and I want to comment on that. This is a first-person game, but maximizing immersion is important for first-person. We have decided that the cutscenes of the play will be captured from that point of view. We are convinced that this will be the best decision from a story and gameplay point of view. However, that does not mean that we will not be able to see our character. He will appear reflected on the screens, in the rearview mirror when driving and also in some cutscenes.»

This is how they wanted to end the controversy but the players remain unconvinced. Nobody is completely right, for some things one camera is better and for others another camera. What is clear is that CD Projekt RED will know well what it is doing, and its motives are reflected above.
