Destiny 2 hopes to last five more years
Destiny 2 already belongs entirely to Bungie, and with the changes they want to give it a lot of life. At least five years of content await the game after its switch to the free to play model.
The end of the union between Bungie and Activision has made Destiny 2, one of those games as a service that receives numerous content updates to keep users hooked; it goes to the free to play model. In addition, additional campaigns will cost money but it will not be necessary to have purchased the previous ones to make the most recent one. And that's just the tip of the iceberg of what awaits the game.
We have a lot of Destiny 2 on the horizon
In one of the most recent videos from the developers, director Luke Smith commented that Destiny 2's move to free to play on October 1 will mark the beginning of a journey of at least five years for the game. That means they have plans to give the game a five-year life.
That makes it clear to us that yes or yes there will be versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett, accompanied by his journey on Google Stadia to keep the game alive on modern systems. In addition, among their plans for the game to last as long as they want, they will introduce changes in the form of seasons to give the feeling that we are really playing a live and constantly changing game.
It also means Destiny 3 isn't coming out anytime soon. Not to say they're not thinking about it, but they want to take advantage of all the freedom with Destiny 2 that they have now that they've been freed from Activision's yoke. Until 2024 they will not finish the game, at least if everything goes well and the community responds in a positive way and they manage to give the game the fame and reputation that it really deserves.
