PlayStation 5: Leaked Sony Dev Kit Images?

Images of the PlayStation 5 are leaked, more specifically of what would be the Sony development kit provided to video game creators.

For a few weeks we are seeing how the rumors about the PlayStation 5 are on the rise. Sony's platform won't hit the market until next year, but there are a lot of rumors, especially about its hardware. What appear to be images of the console dev kit have now been leaked. Specifically, the company's patent application filed in Brazil has been leaked.

Sony reportedly applied for a registration patent at the National Institute of Industrial Property of Brazil. This application does not present any kind of description, so I would point to a development kit. Kits that are delivered to video game developers so that they can perform performance tests and others.

Leaked possible design of the development kit of the PlayStation 5

The filed patent contains the name of Yusuhiro Ootori, Sony Director of Engineering. So the logical thing is to think that this device has a lot to do with the PlayStation 5. We must emphasize that rarely a development kit resembles the final construction of the console. This patent also shows us a strange structure with a 'V' shaped relief. It might be a reference to the fifth iteration of the console and also act to cool it.

Both in the outermost area and in the central slit we see a large amount of grid. If the specs are confirmed, it is going to need a lot of cooling in the Sony console. It is said that this console could have a GPU integrated in the APU equivalent to an NVIDIA GTX 1080. This graphic is equivalent to an RTX 2060 Super or an RTX 2070, which at the same time are equivalent to the RX 5700 XT from AMD. It does not seem easy to integrate such a powerful graphics with such a high consumption in the DIE of the processor.

But hey, rumors are rumors and possibly have little to do with reality. Theoretically in February 2020, Sony could give more data of the PlayStation 5, even present it, according to rumors. The truth is that the console will not reach the market until the end of next year.
