Playstation 5 will not arrive until at least May 2020
We will have to wait at least a year to buy PlayStation 5. They speculate that its mass production could be delayed until June of next year.
Sony has officially confirmed that they are already developing Playstation 5. After almost six years, it is expected that PlayStation 4 will have a successor in the market. They already gave a preview of details such as that it will be backward compatible with the PlayStation 4 catalog and hope that the games have raytracing technology to boost their visual power.
At least one year for PlayStation 5 to come out
In a series of statements, Sony has confirmed that PlayStation 5 is not scheduled to launch for this fiscal year. That means that until May 2020, which is when the next fiscal year begins, there will be no stores that sell a PS5.
There are also reports and voices saying that the materials needed to start the assembly line of the console will not arrive until at least June 200. If true, its final release date may go far. A possible date would be before the so-called Black Friday of next year, the third Friday of the month of November to take advantage of the offers and the Christmas campaign in a key market such as the United States. PlayStation 4 was sold a week before Black Friday 2013 and was one of its flagship products, so it would not be strange to see Sony repeat this play.
But be that as it may, we must pay attention mainly to official sources and for at least one more year we will not have to worry about buying a new console. PlayStation 4 still has at least a year to live with games like The Last of Us: Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, Concrete Genie, and Death Stranding. Games that could have raytraced enhanced versions on PlayStation 5 if Sony wants to have a strong release catalog.
