Yesterday's Pokémon Direct brought the long-awaited news about the narrow Sword and Shield. They will hit the market on November 15.
Yesterday there was the Pokémon Direct that they promised us a week ago, to delve into PokémoNe Sword and Pokémon Shield for Nintendo Switch. This direct comes days after the conference in which they announced Pokémon Sleep, the service Pokémon Home, Pokémon Masters for mobiles and a new installment of Detective Pikachu.
Data, new Pokémon and release date
Next we are going to list clearly and directly all the news that has been shown in this Pokémon Direct about Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.
- The formula of the gyms that were abandoned in the Sol y Luna deliveries will return. Their gym leaders will introduce us to the Dynamax mechanic with which to make a specific Pokémon bigger and more powerful for three turns and we can only use it once per combat. This is justified in the game universe where the gym battles are a spectacle and the attendees see the large Pokémon.
- Some wild Pokémon will appear using Dynamax. They will be gigantic and there will be raids with other players like in Pokémon Go.
- In the absence of definitive confirmation, the random combats are eliminated and we can see the creatures in their habitat to decide whether to approach them and face them, or flee, similar to Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee.
- New characters: Lionel, the best trainer in the Galar region; Paul, his younger brother who will be our rival; Professor Magnolia and her granddaughter Sonia who also works as an assistant.
- New Pokémon: Corviknight, Drednaw, Gossifleur and its evolution Eldegoss and Wooloo. The legendary will be Zacian and Zamazenta, which will be the covers of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield respectively.
