Pokémon: Let's Go will be a title for Nintendo Switch and that will be complementary to Pokémon Go
Dust off your walking shoes and reinstall Pokemon Go, because Game Freak announced a new game within the Pokemon franchise, Pokemon: Let's Go, which will be played on the Nintendo switch in conjunction with the near-extinct and discontinued Pokemon Go.
The new Game Freak title will come out on November 16 and will have a gadget (which will be sold separately of course) which will be the “pokeball plus” which is basically a Joy-con in the shape of a pokeball, but you can also take it out on the street and it will fulfill the functions of the Pokemon Go plus bracelet that told you where the pokemon were.
Possibilities in the game
As seen in its trailer, the game will be compatible to play in local cooperative using each one a joy-con, they can capture Pokémon, fight and link your mobile Pokemon Go to the Switch game, so each Pokemon you capture can be used on the console .
Unfortunately this new title seems to bring more bad than good things for a fan and player of the Pokemon saga and that is that if paying (surely) about 50-60 Euros for the gadget in the form of a pokeball was not enough, the new Pokemon Lets go title Pikachu will also have the Pokemon Lets go variant, Eevee.
Wasn't that enough? Well it takes longer because an online subscription for Nintendo Switch will be needed to use certain functions or main features of the games, what kind of features? Little things like being able to fight or trade Pokemon online.
The Pokemon Company noted the following:
“ Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will feature online play. Battles and trades with other players via the internet or locally will be available in these games… However, the feature set is somewhat simplified compared to previous games, as there will be no ranked battles, free battles, or online competitions, to name a few examples. More details will be revealed at a later date. To access these features, an active membership to the Nintendo Switch Online service, scheduled to begin in September of this year, is required.”
