After three days, in which several prominent personalities from the video game sector have spoken about the different challenges that the industry faces, in which they have shared their experiences and also reviewed their consolidated careers, Gamelab Barcelona 2020 Live has arrived to an end with the delivery of the XIII National Gamelab Video Game Awards. These awards highlight the best Spanish games of the last year.

The second title of the Sevillian studio The Game Kitchen, Blasphemous, a level combat game that takes Andalusian culture as a reference and that in its premiere at the end of 2019 swept sales in Steam and on Nintendo Switch, it has been the winner of this edition with five awards from the twelve categories of Gamelab 2020: Award for Best Game of the Year, Awards for Best Console Game, Awards for Best PC Game, Award for Best Game Design and Best artistic direction. Without a doubt, this title was the best, not only among Spanish games, but globally.
But not everything was Blasphemous last year. For their part, the Catalans Piccolo Studio have triumphed with their first game Arise: a simple story, which delves into the volatile landscapes of memory, full of feelings of love and loss. He took home no less than four of the Gamelab awards: award for Best debut game, awards for Best Catalan game, award for Best Audio and award for Best Narrative.
The professionals accredited at Gamelab Barcelona 2020, voters this year for the best creations of 2019, have also awarded Reventure as Best Original Idea, a retro-style platform and action game with a hundred different endings, by Pixelatto. The Best Student Game Award went to Burn Me Twice from Null Reference and U-tad, a storytelling adventure that combines exploration and investigation of the enigmatic town of Düstenburg and its people, with trials that test knowledge about the case. In the category of Best Smartphone Game and tablets the winner was Melbits world by Melbot Studios, a cooperative couch game, designed for the whole family to enjoy.
