Project Scarlett would be Based on AMD Zen2 and Navi, with four times more power than the XBOX One X
During the XBOX conference the Project Scarlett console was presented, which will use an AMD SoC based on Zen2 with Navi graphics.
The new Microsoft console was announced during the XBOX conference held at E3 2019. It seems that Microsoft is in a hurry to start generating hype and overshadowing its rival Sony. It's about a year before the two consoles hit the market and by then, it may be too late. Google has started a new path in the gaming market with Stadia or what is the same, play without the need for consoles or milk. Microsoft meanwhile has let us glimpse that it will be its new console, called Project Scarlett.

This new console, codenamed Project Scarlett during its development phase, will arrive in the summer of 2020. Microsoft has emphasized that this new console will be four times more powerful than the Xbox One X. This announcement has a certain 'trick'. Microsoft's current console is based on Bulldozer cores and GCN graphics, so the jump to Zen 2 + Navi will be what gives it a massive power boost.
Phil Spencer, Chief XBOX Director at Microsoft: "The console should be optimized for one console and one thing only." This translated means: develop for our console with limited power, make portability to PC, it works badly and they buy us more consoles.
The Microsoft console will have an SoC developed by AMD. It is a little different from Sony's proposal. Microsoft's SoC will be based on Zen2 cores and Navi graphics, all paired with GDDR6 memory. Project Scarlett will also implement support for hardware RayTracing.
But the company goes further and offers support for 120Hz displays, variable refresh rate (VRR) and 8K resolution capacity. Of course, and as a gift with the console you will get a motorcycle, which is what Microsoft is selling. If they offer 4K @ 60FPS and 1080p @ 60FPS + RayTracing, they can already find themselves with an edge in their teeth. As good as the AMD graphics are, Microsoft is pure science fiction.
