Rockstar focuses on GTA VI and removes content support for Red Dead Online
With Red Dead Redemption II's online mode, Rockstar Games wanted to emulate the success of Grand Theft Auto OnlineWith the amount of recurring money it generates, having a second game live as a service, with a new setting using as support the sequel to one of its most highly rated titles, was a near-certain bet. And we say “nearly” because the online mode has never had the popularity that Rockstar Games wanted, possibly because whoever wanted a game like GTA Online, already had GTA Online, and whoever didn’t want an online mode from the start, wouldn’t use it.
After a few years of support in which less and less content arrived, Rockstar Games has announced that They will not update Red Dead Online anymore. At least when it comes to content updates, because there will still be maintenance.
Read Dead Online is not a success and therefore it is time to make GTA VI
Rockstar has made an announcement warning Red Dead Online fans not to expect any more major updates. This is because they are shifting development resources towards Grand Theft Auto VI.
Although it is not unexpected news, because it has had very little content from Rockstar Games, in response to the low number of players it has had these years. Rockstar has laid out its plan to keep red dead online alive and has acknowledged his increased attention to GTA VI.
For the past several years, we have been steadily moving more development resources towards the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, understanding more than ever the need to exceed player expectations and for this next entry to be the best it can be and As a result, we're in the process of making some changes to the way we support Red Dead Online.
Rockstar Games
All of this means that there will be no major content updates. The servers will be maintained, but there will be nothing substantially new. At least you will be able to continue playing, but the experience will not evolve beyond what is already present. Red Dead Online players can look forward to events highlighting existing content, as well as special seasonal events and experience enhancements. This year there will also be new telegram quests.
Rockstar Games already acknowledged that GTA VI was in «active development" Y "very advanced» in February this year, following an earlier Bloomberg report suggesting the game wouldn't be released until 2024 at the earliest. GTA VI may be around the corner, but it's relative how close it is, because they can spend years debugging the game with small details because they are not in a hurry as long as GTA Online continues to generate a lot of money.
