Risk of Rain 2 has sold a million copies in a month of Early Access
The roguelike Risk of Rain 2 is a bestseller and outsells its predecessor. It has sold in a month what cost the first five years and a Kickstarter campaign.
A little over a month ago, Risk of Rain 2 came out on Steam in Early Access. The game is playable today but a ton of content awaits you to say it's done. That has not been an impediment so that it has already sold more than a million copies on Steam.
Many initial sales for Risk of Rain 2
These figures are very impressive. First, because they are not what one expects from a game with such little general recognition as Risk of Rain. It has its followers but they are very concentrated in the community of roguelike games like The Binding of Isaac, ideal for streaming and YouTube gameplays repeatedly.
Second, because the game is in Early Access as we already said. This label is for many a warning that one should not trust the game too much, and despite this its sales numbers have reached seven figures. it's quite an achievement for an indie game.
These sales will make developers and fans very happy. There are many sales that will ensure that the development goes ahead. A final version of the game will be ready in spring of next year. At least four characters and various objects will be added to it, exponentially expanding the possibilities of the game. They already demonstrated this in an update in which they added the key that opens boxes, which in exchange for a small initial investment of money can give many objects in the long term. We can only look forward to Risk of Rain 2 becoming a much bigger hit and for the game to reach its full potential as soon as all updates come out.
