Rockstar confirms that they are working on the next GTA

GTA fans have been waiting for years for Rockstar to announce the next GTA game , which is expected to be GTA VI. After releasing the Definitive Editions of their classic games GTA III, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas, Rockstar wanted to regain the trust of players who are eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series.

In a recent post on their official blog , Rockstar has unequivocally confirmed that they are developing the next GTA, which will most likely be Grand Theft Auto VI . They haven't confirmed its current stage or expected release date, but there are many indications that it has been in development for several years, though these are still just speculations.

Rockstar is already making GTA VI, now it's time to wait

The first signs appeared years ago when Rockstar Games applied to the British government for official game development funding to create what would be their biggest game to date. When asked if this would involve re-releases of Grand Theft Auto V for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, analyst Daniel Ahmad replied that it could only be the next GTA, since such funding isn't granted for re-releases.

It was later revealed that Take-Two expects to invest nearly $90 million between April 2023 and March 2024 in marketing. This amount of money would only be allocated to a title like Grand Theft Auto, given that part of the marketing campaign is to make the game feel like a major cultural milestone. Take-Two is the parent company of Rockstar Games, and it would be responsible for the advertising and distribution costs of the next GTA if Rockstar Games doesn't decide to go it alone.

These are speculations based on some information that has surfaced over the years regarding the next GTA. Now that we know for sure it's in development, we just have to wait for the official announcement. Along with this announcement, they confirmed that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of GTA V will be released on March 15th.
