SEGA will be unified in 2020

Although the process of unifying the two divisions has begun, it will not be completed until April 2020. This is because this is the month when the fiscal year in Japan closes. An announcement made by the CEO of SEGA, Toshihiro Nagoshi, who has left that this will have no effect on the consumer. It is simply an internal restructuring and the public will continue to operate without problems.

And although we all know SEGA, there really is no brand with this name. It has always had the Interactive division and the Games division, two different companies that were even internally separated.

The Interactive division was the division specialized in arcade machines and games. As is logical, today this division does not make much sense, since its market is residual. The Games division, for its part, is the game development division for console, PC and smartphone. With the unification, everything becomes a single SEGA, achieving more consistency and allowing greater collaboration between development teams.
