Star Tropics for Nintendo Switch Online does not have the necessary code to advance in the game
A vital code for passing Star Tropics has not been integrated into the game manual. It was a way to break the fourth wall and it did DRM to prevent piracy.
Last week the classic Star Tropics arrived on the Nintendo Switch Online NES gaming service. It is an action role-playing game designed for the American market, which had a sequel and has not been heard from again. Having it on the NIntendo Switch is a good opportunity for the current public to know it, but Nintendo has forgotten an important detail that prevents progress in the game.
Missing a Star Tropics code that would have been easy to put in
When it first came out more than twenty years ago, Star Tropics came with a piece of paper in an envelope that included a code essential to moving forward. We had to put it in some water and it would reveal a number that we must enter when they ask us for a specific frequency.
There is no other way to find it in the game. At the time it served as a method to break the so-called fourth wall, as well as as an anti-piracy method. In the United States, the rental of games through Blockbuster was the order of the day and for Nintendo it represented a huge problem, so they wanted to deal with them with methods like this.
But they didn't think that perhaps they could reissue the game many years from now, or that someone would lend the game to a friend. The code that was seen on paper is 747 and it was entered in the digital manual for the Star Tropics Virtual Console version. If by any chance you were stuck in the game and could not find that frequency, this is the code necessary to advance and be able to finish the adventure of Mike Jones.
