Starfield might not have Nvidia DLSS or Intel XeSS

Image upscaling technologies for games are becoming popular by allowing for a higher number of frames per second. But the game must be compatible and so must your graphics card, and since it has been announced that Starfield will have an eighth hardware partner from AMD, it is feared that no NVIDA or Intel technology will be used.

And it seems that will be the case, because there's been no mention of NVIDIA DLSS for RTX graphics cards, nor Intel XeSS, in the Starfield data. That doesn't mean they won't have it in the future, but it doesn't appear likely to be available at launch.

Starfield would be so faithful to AMD that it would have neither NVIDIA DLSS nor Intel XeSS

Starfield preloading has begun, and it's already providing information about the game even though it's not yet playable. Data analysis appears to have confirmed that Starfield will not launch with Nvidia's DLSS or Intel's XeSS technologies.

Since it was announced that AMD would be the exclusive partner for Starfield on PC, many thought this meant that Bethesda's game would only support AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution upscaling technology. The implementation of other scalers requires the intervention of the developers, and in this AMD could have intervened to impose some temporary exclusivity.

A post by Twitter user Sebasti66855537 contains a screenshot of Starfield's file directory and his comments. According to the user, the Starfield preload files show no signs of Nvidia DLSS or Intel XeSS. He shared a screenshot of the game's expanded installation folder, nothing referring to either Intel or NVIDIA to be found.

Neither AMD nor Bethesda have confirmed that Starfield only supports FSR. The release date of AMD FSR 3 could coincide with the release of Starfield, or come not long after as a way to have synergy between the game and the brand.
