These are some video games that are worth not missing, if you were thinking of buying them, do not hesitate to give them that opportunity!
I'm writing this article to recommend some of my favorite video games of the moment. I'm not going to make a "top best video games of 2018" or anything like that, it's just going to be a series of video games that I've played recently (whether they're old or modern) and that I definitely recommend.
Let's start with indie games because they deserve a place in every gamer's heart. I've tried to make sure the list includes very different games so that whatever experience you're looking for, you'll find what you want and can be sure that having them all won't make you feel like you're playing anything similar to what came before, no matter which one you play.
Hollow Knight
It is one of the video games that simply leaves me speechless. Perfect Metroidvania in 2D with a beautiful art style, a very well worked story and a gameplay that borders on perfection if it does not fulfill it. With some mechanics that eat in that current Dark Souls fashion on the subject of dying and losing your game currency until you reach the point where you lost them without dying or lose them and that if you sit on the bench to replenish life and change the skills you regenerate all the enemies in the world except the bosses. Hollow Knight is one of the best current experiences with Dead Cells (which unfortunately I will not add to this list but which I also found very, very entertaining).
Summary: The player is the Hollow Knight, the one chosen to contain a virus that has destroyed Hollownest. He will have to overcome the trip and kill all the bosses that stand in his way to fulfill his objective which will be to sacrifice himself to save Hollownest and all the people of the place who are still alive or sane. The soundtrack is 10.
The game is usually around € 8 almost whenever we find it on sale.

Overcooked! 2
Do you have 3 friends and want to pull your hair with them? Overcooked is perhaps the best video game currently to end up testing your nerves while you do not stop seeing how everything that surrounds you in an absurd way ends up being a complete chaos and it will not be solved until you work as a team and plan a plan. As you can imagine, the more players the more difficult it is. It is not the same to play with your brother, partner or a friend, which is an incredible experience and the one that I recommend to finish the game. Than playing with 3 more people and leaving the kitchen a mess with the 4 cooks falling off the map or dying with their meals in very exaggeratedly stupid ways.
Summary: Whatever the number of players, you have a HUD at the top left where the dishes to be delivered to the restaurant will be marked and a time to make them, each map will have different ways to challenge the players thus complicating a a task that already requires synchronization and teamwork. (Come on, it will be a Christ).

Middle-earth: Shadow of War
Are you a freak of the Lord of the Rings or do you just want to play some open world with an incredibly huge world and where all the ecosystems in it work perfectly? Middle-earth, both Shadows of Mordor and war, fulfill that, being Shadow of War the second installment that polishes the first to the millimeter, we stay with this one for a lot. Imagine 40 or 50 hours of a good story, with an impressive and agile gameplay that will leave you with your mouth open at each cinematic or fight animation you do and that our character progresses when we thought it could not be more incredible . Whether you are a fan of the Lord of the Rings or not, if you like medieval fantasy games, the game is already 8 or 9 at least without any problem, without a doubt one of the best AAA video games that I have been able to play lately.

DOOM and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus
These two I am going to put together because I consider them brothers or much more than that. Swap Demons for Nazis and the result is just as unbelievably perfect. Undoubtedly, in terms of action, the best video games that have come out in many years considering them and all just as impressive as their first installments were when they came out so many years ago with DOOM and Wolfenstein 3D.
DOOM is about controlling our friend DoomGuy (yes, he doesn't need a name to be cool, just the guy from Doom is enough) smashing skulls with his fists and blasting mouths with a shotgun blast at thousands of kilometers per second. A frenetic game where you take on the role of a strong, hate-filled man who will return fire against a hellish invasion taking place on Mars, even going so far as to go to Hell itself to kick some butt. Pure adrenaline and simple, humorous fun like no other.
Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is like DOOM but it has focused more on giving the story depth since its previous installment, and although we might all be a little scared to think about a story in a game like DOOM, the truth is that Wolfenstein The New Order was already a success and this installment is more of the same but better. A good story, some very well stereotyped Nazis and a scary villain. Technology galore and lots of people to kill to save the world from the new order. Like DOOM, it is all about humor (the shooting sensation is not unpleasant, on the contrary, it encourages you to continue and have a few laughs).
Platforms (for both video games): PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch (on which I must emphasize that it looks incredible and portable, I declare myself a fan of these installments and without a doubt portable versions are a surprising and quite successful success).
DarkSiders I and II
The release of DarkSiders III is approaching and with this the desire to have it already in our hands, some players when that happens to us gives us to play their previous deliveries. I will simply say that they are one of the best Hack and Slash the industry has seen, with stylized graphics they make them impressive to look at.
The story places us in a post-apocalyptic world where demons and angels have prematurely anticipated the end of time. In DarkSiders 1 we will be in the role of War who has been unjustly accused of this enormous sin that is to extinguish humanity before they have enough strength to fight in the final war of demon angels and humans.
In DarkSiders 2 we will be in the role of Death who, after learning what happened to his brother Guerra, decides to take action and try not only to prove his innocence but also to solve his "sins."
I won't say much more about the story and without a doubt if you like platforms and splitting creatures in half in a stylized and beautiful world that mixes gothic with Norse mythology I recommend you take a look at the saga, especially now that everyone will be talking about DarkSiders III and you don't have to be left with a face of "I don't know what you're talking about."
Platforms: PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, WiiU (only the second installment). They have a remastering that is worth it.
HITMAN
In my opinion, the best Hitman in the franchise (and yes, I have played BloodMoney), it fixes everything that Absolution did wrong and gives us what we didn't know was a well-made Hitman game. 6 huge maps, with their numerous situations in each one. Many ways to take advantage of these and reach our objective. Planning the perfect assassination is not for everyone, and HITMAN knows this, that's why the difficulty level will be quite high at the beginning, always going for the simplest and safest, and slowly making us interested in... "Can I go down that path if I dress up as the man who leans on that lamppost every so often?", "Is there rat poison and can I put it in his drink?", "Will it make him vomit or kill him? If he does vomit I can accompany him to the bathroom..." In my opinion, it brings out the coldest and most calculating part of the player and little by little turns him into a person who knows how to value not only patience, but also elegance and professionalism. Hitman 2 is out November 13th.

Fortnite
Fortnite couldn't be missing from this video game extravaganza, and it has proven to be the most addictive Battle Royale of the moment, even compelling me to get a battle pass to understand where 90% of the fun lies. With its charming style, animations that border on the absurd, and a genre that seems to fit perfectly with everything, Fortnite has positioned itself as the number one battle royale game, even when PUBG was at the top. One thing that keeps many players hooked on Fortnite is that just when you start to get tired of the game after playing it sporadically for weeks, Epic Games releases an update. They never fail; they clearly love their cash cow and provide updates that change everything from the most basic mechanics to adding incredibly fun game modes to prevent any sense of repetitiveness. Without a doubt, it's the hottest online game right now, and it will likely remain so for who knows how long. It's free, so access is from "easy" to "incredibly easy" because it works on all platforms, and that's something to value positively because it has cross-play.

Dark Souls Remastered
We return to Lordran with a remaster that for those of us who had already passed it could be two things:
1- The same but that looks better.
2- Another reason to walk through this harsh and cruel land.
For me, luckily, it’s been both. I know it’s weird to see DarkSouls Remastered on a list like this, but after getting it on PC and Switch, I’m going to say one thing: if you have the Switch, take a look at it. On PC, it was like “look, it looks better,” but it wasn’t until I got it on handheld that I realized it was worth the wait (although it was really unjustified). The entire incredible world of Dark Souls on a portable console to play wherever you want. I’m sorry to focus so much on the Switch version, but I definitely think the remastered only made sense on this platform unless you’re only interested in being able to play it with friends.
By adapting the online system to what Dark Souls III was for me, the game has improved a lot, thus making it a totally different experience because I am used to playing it more alone than one.
Summary: We embody the chosen undead and we have on our shoulders the task of fulfilling the prophecy of prolonging the age of fire, an age that is not only practically extinct but in constant decline, thus revealing the world in a tragic way in which everything is people who have given up or lost their sanity, and most importantly, they have lost who they were because of it. 90% of the stories in Dark Souls will be bittersweet stories that will end in dire ways and we will only reach the end of this hard adventure if we repeat one thing to ourselves: "I can do it, I can move forward, I will continue, I will not give up here." For me and many others it is "Self-Help Book: The Video Game."
