Ubisoft Quartz is Ubisoft's NFT series for their games

That the big video game companies started to implement blockchain and NFT technologies in their games will not come as a surprise to anyone. These are the words on the lips of many technology enthusiasts and there are many interested investors, so, although in the end it is only a way to get investors in the hope that they will stick if the project goes wrong, Ubisoft has announced Ubisoft Quartz that it will make its NFT series for your games.

The first game in which they are going to implement will be Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint, a title that was once described as the last straw for users' patience with games as a service from the French company. It is understandable that they want to implement the Ubisoft Quartz NFTs in a game with a very low profile so as not to damage the image of other titles such as Rainbow Six Siege. For now it is a beta and we will have to wait to see if they implement it in other games.

Ubisoft, the first major to implement NFT

While there have been many games from large companies that play with collectible digital items, such as FIFA Ultimate Team or Steam's own inventory with the stickers or objects from Team Fortress 2 or Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Ubisoft is the first major company to implement NFT in your games. The announcement was made a few days ago under the name of Ubisoft Quartz, which is the name that will be given to the program ys erie from NFT.

For now, all the items are cosmetic and it does not seem that they will offer any advantage in the game. An example of the Ubisoft Quartz NFTs is a series of helmets with the unique serial number embedded. One of the reasons it is NFT is the idea that it can be used in other company games like Rainbow Six Siege.

A large number of users strongly disliked this announcement, giving the YouTube video negative votes. Although the "dislikes" on YouTube are not visible , the response appears to have been negative enough for the video to be hidden. It doesn't seem likely that Ubisoft Quartz will disappear solely due to this negative reaction; its fate will depend on its overall profitability, not only from direct NFT sales but also on its impact on the Ubisoft gaming ecosystem.
