Wolfenstein Youngblood receives official support for NVIDIA RayTracing

Ahead of its conference at CES 2020 in Las Vegas, NVIDIA has released its first 2020 drivers. These new Game Ready drivers mostly focus on adding support for Ray Tracing and DLSS for Wolfenstein Youngblood. For this game, reflections are added in addition to DLSS to compensate for the loss of performance.

Along with Wolfenstein Youngblood, Ray Tracing is also added to the Deliver Us The Moon game. This game receives shadows and reflections, plus support for DLSS to compensate for the loss of framerate. So two new games are added to the list of titles with RayTracing and they will surely not be the last to support this technology from NVIDIA.

Wolfenstein Youngblood and Deliver Us The Moon Receive RayTracing

These two games add to the growing list of titles that implement or will implement support for ray tracing. Control, Battlefield V, Quake II RTX or Shadow of the Tomb Raider, while Minecraft should receive this technology this year. Although Wolfenstein Youngblood was already listed as a game with support for ray tracing, it had not yet been implemented.

This idTech 6 title has been on the market for a few months with great success, among others, due to its great graphic quality. NVIDIA's RayTracing implementation of this title only adds an additional quality element to the game. As of today, January 6, there is already driver support for this technology in Wolfenstein Youngblood. The game update that adds this technology is also available.

Wolfenstein Youngblood with NVIDIA RTX ON

RTX ON in Wolfenstein Youngblood offers us reflections of light in real time on objects. Above all, this element is present in textures of water and walls. Active DLSS improves game performance to compensate for additional resource consumption.

NVIDIA has provided Wolfenstein Youngblood performance data with active RayTracing at 1440p resolution with an RTX 2060. With active ray tracing and DLSS off, you would get up to 85FPS. If the DLSS technology is activated, the rate can be improved and reached 117FPS. Depending on the area or the action, this frame rate may vary.
