World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will finally integrate Ray Tracing
We are seeing some classic titles making a comeback, as is the case with Crysis Remastered. We have also seen how NVIDIA has adapted the DOOM game to integrate Ray Tracing technology. Blizzard in November already said that they were studying integrating Ray Tracing into World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. After analyzing it and seeing the performance, finally the ray tracing technology for shadows.
Although Ray Tracing technology had a limited catch and the number of titles is still limited, it is here to stay. New rumors indicate that the NVIDIA Ampere could multiply by x the performance of Ray Tracing with respect to Turing. In addition, there would be a drop in prices, so this technology would be democratized.

Blizzard is currently working on this new graphics option for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. But what seems certain is that ray tracing will be integrated to improve image quality. It will be reduced or 'simplified' for ambient lighting and shadows. Additionally, four levels of Ray Tracing will be added: off, fair, good, and high.
WoW is characterized, above all, for being a game with very tight graphics to be executed on any system. But of course, in order to run the game with Ray Tracing we will need a GeForce RTX graphics from NVIDIA. It is currently the only graphics manufacturer that supports this technology.
It should be noted that Blizzard has only shown a screenshot of the graphical panel where the function appears. We haven't seen what WoW will look like with Ray Tracing, as we haven't been taught it.
One game that has recently been updated to support Ray Tracing has been Minecraft, which changes quite a bit. Possibly Shadowlands should also have a great graphical leap in the game. We will have to wait a few days for Blizzard to show it to us.
