Some classic titles are making a comeback, such as Crysis Remastered. We've also seen NVIDIA adapt DOOM to integrate ray tracing technology. Back in November, Blizzard announced they were exploring integrating ray tracing into World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. After analyzing the game and assessing its performance, they have confirmed that ray tracing technology will be implemented for shadows.
Despite its limited initial adoption and the still small number of games using ray tracing, it's here to stay. New rumors suggest that NVIDIA Ampere processors could quadruple ray tracing performance compared to Turing. Furthermore, a price drop is expected, making this technology more accessible to a wider audience.

Blizzard is currently working on this new graphics option for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. But what seems certain is that ray tracing will be integrated to improve image quality. It will be reduced or 'simplified' for ambient lighting and shadows. Additionally, four levels of Ray Tracing will be added: off, fair, good, and high.
WoW is characterized, above all, for being a game with very tight graphics to be executed on any system. But of course, in order to run the game with Ray Tracing we will need a GeForce RTX graphics from NVIDIA. It is currently the only graphics manufacturer that supports this technology.

It should be noted that Blizzard has only shown a screenshot of the graphical panel where the function appears. We haven't seen what WoW will look like with Ray Tracing, as we haven't been taught it.
One game that has recently been updated to support Ray Tracing has been Minecraft, which changes quite a bit. Possibly Shadowlands should also have a great graphical leap in the game. We will have to wait a few days for Blizzard to show it to us.
