Vulkan is updated to support Multi GPU configurations
Vulkan receives an update to support configurations with various graphics cards
The well-known low-level API known as Vulkan has received an "experimental" update to offer support for configurations with multiple graphics cards (SLI from Nvidia or Crossfire from AMD), in this case the update is 1.0.42 which although it is not definitive, the Khronos group does plan for this functionality to be incorporated into the platform as normal.
It is a fact that although computers with several graphics cards do not perform what they should on paper, from DX 11 to DX 12 we have seen an improvement that has a less dark future than the previous one, for this reason we hope that something similar will happen with Vulkan. It must be said that DX 12 already had this support in its official release and the reason why, although it had improvement, it was not expected for those interested, is that it had many errors of having rushed and having developed it enough so that all graphs worked more effectively.

Although we are in the Beta phase of development of this new support, we see the effort that the developers are making and it gives us hope that in the future this functionality can be used correctly. It should be mentioned that it is not expected that all the games that can be run under Vulkan currently can use several GPUs at the same time since this represents a very large work for many developers and that is not among their main priorities.

One question, Amd invested money for the development of Vulkan? That is, if he became a partner in the company, bought shares or something.
Because Amd is very useful for Vulkan and Directx 12 to be used by developers as soon as possible
Not only is AMD looking for non-proprietary technologies, as it was with OpenCL (Nvidia's CUDA counterpart) and OpenGL (Microsoft's DirectX counterpart), now it is with Vulkan. Despite the fact that DirectX 12 is an involution of Mantle (from AMD) since it had to support Nvidia cards and others. In MANTLE, AMD did invest since it is its own API. The best bet that AMD is doing in APIS is in VULKAN (which is the evolution of OpenGL) also created by the same group Khronos. I think that Vulkan is going to surpass DirectX and will make possible many graphic things, since the Star Citizen developers have already abandoned DirectX 12 for Vulkan.
