Is Walkybit, the App that pays you in Centurion to walk, a scam?
Starbit, the website that sells you the Walkybit application, which pays you with Centurion (CNT), for walking, which is worth 0.02380 BTC and that it would take more than 4.400 kilometers to recover the investment made. A real madness.
A few weeks ago I discovered an application, which supposedly paid you in Centurion (CNT), a cryptocurrency with a fairly low value. The idea seems interesting and simple, you just have to go for a walk and get cryptocurrencies in a simple way, which we can later exchange for Bitcoin and the currency we want. I found it a very interesting idea, but this application for Android has two problems, it must be on when we walk, this means that we will easily melt the battery in a while and the second is that the application is free for five days, then it is payment.
Paying for an application is not in my plans, but hey, if it is $ 20 or even $ 50, it is not a crazy amount, really, but the surprise has been when they have asked me for 0.01961 BTC and when are you going to do the payment, they ask you to send 0.02380BTC to a wallet and that's it. When you start making numbers, you see that today's BTC exchange rate, which is about $ 14.550, comes out to a figure of about $ 350, approximately. Centurion has a value of 0.027 $ or 185 satoshi of BTC, a fairly low value and they ask us for a very high amount for the application, so we are going to see other parameters.
The first thing is to know, how many CNT we will need so that the investment is returned to us. Taking into account the data presented in the previous paragraph, it appears that at this price we would need 12865 CNT, to amortize the application. Now we need to know how many steps we have to walk and therefore, how many meters we have to travel, to reach that specific figure.
I have made these calculations based on the time that I have used the application. As you can see in the capture, I have traveled 422 meters, which is equivalent, according to the application to 603 steps, which generated 1.221 CNT for a value of $ 0.03. With this data, we start the calculations. We know that we will need 12865 CNT to recover the investment at the current value and that the 422 meters traveled are equivalent to 1.221 CNT. With a simple rule of three, the data shows that we would have to travel 4.446.333'3579 meters. Yes, it is a nonsense and if we put it in contact more, since it is equivalent to 4.446 kilometers, something that more or less will allow us to travel 70% of the terrestrial radius, neither more nor less. If we do the calculations of the steps that we would have to perform, there are 6.353.409 steps.
Apparently we are facing a real scam, since it is impossible to meet these requirements for the investment to be returned. The application is also not in the Google Play Store, you have to download it from its own website, so this application smells even weirder. I do not advise anyone to use it, because to recover the investment, even if the value is multiplied by ten, we would still have to travel more than 444Km, a rather brutal distance. By the way, I remember that you have to have the application running in the foreground at all times, otherwise it does not record the movements.

Ponzi scheme. Nothing new under the sun.
