Xiaomi Pinecone, the company's first processor for its next smartphone.

Xiaomi will present on February 28, its Xiaomi Pinecone processor, the first manufactured by the company and thus eliminate the dependence of this brand with third companies.

One of the big smartphone brands such as Xiaomi, has proposed to stop being dependent on other companies for power, so they want to have their own processors and integrate them into their devices. The company has launched the Xiaomi Pinecone project and has leaked on the Chinese social network Weibo where it has also been leaked that this processor will be presented on February 28 in the city of Beijing.

All this takes a strange chalice when Xiaomi officially announced that they would not be present at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that begins in a few days, since according to the company itself, they had nothing to show, but it is curious that Xiaomi has chosen as a presentation date on February 28, where Xiaomi Pinecone will officially present. We have no data on which will be the first processor to integrate this chip, there was even talk that it could have been integrated into the Xiaomi Mi 5c smartphone.

Xiaomi is currently using Qualcomm and MediaTek processors for its portable devices. Making its own processors allows the company to have an independence from other companies. Currently brands such as Apple, Samsung and Huawei manufacture their own processors, something that seems to be a very logical step for the company. We will have to wait until the end of the month to know all the data of said processor and to know if it is capable of competing with Qualcomm Snapdragon and Samsung Exynos processors.
