All of you who have a PC of the AMD Ryzen platform should enter this link to get the latest drivers to improve the user experience in high performance tasks.
According to AMD, the main objective of this launch is to fulfill the promises of the company to include the balanced power plan for AMD Ryzen in the driver pack for the A320, B350 and X370 chipsets. The 17.10 driver is specifically designed for systems with processors from the latest AMD range and running under the Windows 10 operating system in its 64-bit version. This update installs and activates the specialized power plan automatically, thus leaving the fourth Windows power plan.
The company explained that AMD's new Ryzen power plan prevents CPU cores from being "parked" in a standby state, which could have a negative impact on gaming performance. The plan also allows the processor to raise its frequencies more quickly by reducing timers and waits for transitions between power and performance states.
It could be explained as follows: The key to the problem is latency. There is a 30ms delay between the operating system ordering the transition between states and the processor acting. The delay varies depending on the parameters of the power plan. Switching to the high-performance plan gives the power management tasks to the processor. With full control of its own power states, a modern processor can switch between different standby states in 1ms, reducing the performance problem. But this is not that energy efficient speaking.
The company expressed its appreciation for the reactions and opinions of the users who installed and used it. Looking ahead, AMD has promised to continue to support and enhance its AMD Ryzen platform.
