Budget PC Gaming Basic

If you are thinking of giving your child a gaming computer this Christmas and you want a solution that is good in quality / price ratio, we bring you this Basic PC Gaming budget. For 400 euros you have the whole computer, even a combo of gaming peripherals that we have analyzed. We are talking about a fairly basic configuration based on an AMD Ryzen APU, thus we save the dedicated graphics card. We have also opted for a chassis with a built-in power supply, thus saving quite a bit at this point as well.

This budget has a price of around 400 euros

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3400G

The choice of this processor for this Basic Gaming PC is simple: it includes GPU. Account is Ryzen 5 3400G 4-core 8-thread 12nm lithography. This processor works at a frequency of 3.7GHz and reaches 4.2GHz in Boost mode. It also integrates 2MB of L2 cache and 4MB of L3 cache. Regarding the integrated graphics, it has an RX Vega 11 of 11 Compute Units working at 1.400MHz.

Motherboard: MSI B450M Pro-VDH MAX

As a motherboard we have opted for a solution with a little quality. We have looked for the cheapest one that would have a heatsink in the VRM phases. It has 4 DDR4 DIMM socket for a maximum of 64GB of RAM. It has a shielded PCIe 3.0 x16 port and an M.2 NVMe port. Regarding connectivity, it has 4 USB 2.0 ports and 4 USB 3.2 Gen1 ports. As for video outputs, it has VGA, DVI-D and HDMI 1.4 output.

Heatsink: AMD Wraith Spire

The processor already integrates the Wraith Spire heatsink, the most basic that the company offers for Ryzen processors. We could choose to install a different heatsink, but at least it would be 20 euros additional to the budget and for this processor it is more than enough.

RAM memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) 3200 MHz

For AMD Ryzen processors, RAM memories working at 3200MHz are recommended. Games consume more and more RAM, the normal being between 6GB and 8GB and taking into account that the iGPU of this Ryzen APU requires DDR4 RAM, we have opted for a total of 16GB. The simplest kit based on these characteristics is this one from Corsair.

Storage: Crucial MX500 500GB

A gaming device without an SSD is not a possibility today. We wanted to look for a unit a little better than the Kignston A400, which is the most basic. We have opted for the Crucial solution, a Micron trademark. This drive offers a 560MB / s read speed and 520MB / s write speed.

Chassis: Tacens Anima ACM500

In order to offer a tight budget for these difficult times, we have opted for this chassis that integrates power supply. A source of the same power usually costs 40 euros and then the box another 40 euros and for less than half we have both. The power supply is 500W, so it is more than enough to power this system, which will be around 125-150W. A simple box with USB 2.0 and USB 3.1 Gen1 connectors, in addition to the audio input and output jack connectors.

Peripherals: Combo Krom Kritic

A few weeks ago we reviewed this keyboard, mouse, and headphone combo. They are a simple and inexpensive solution that offers a good quality / price ratio. There are other packs, but these are already more expensive and buying the components separately can cost much more. All three components have RGB. We have not included a mat, but for 5-10 euros we can have one.
