Control: Remedy is aware of the poor performance on consoles

Control was released on August 27, with a very bad performance in video consoles, Remedy is working to improve it

Remedy is fully aware of the poor performance of its Control video game on video game consoles, especially on Xbox One S and PS4, the PS4 Pro also performs poorly but is less prominent than the other two. On the other hand, on the Xbox One X we can say that it 'measures up' by maintaining 30 frames. This new game is postulated as a spiritual renewal or successor to the previous Remedy game, Quantum Break. But Control can be said to be deeper and more immersive than Quantum Break. In general, the game is liking the public despite some divergences.

Thanks to Digital Foundry, through an analysis of the game we could see how the title performed on the different consoles on the market. In the video we can see how badly the game moves, being below 30 frames almost all the time, about 20 on average and having constant drops when there is action up to 13-15 frames on Xbox One S and PS4. The only one that holds about 30 constant frames is the Xbox One X. It is something unplayable that should not have been released like that.

Remedy is already working on solving performance problems on consoles

Through one entry On the same Control website, Remedy has shared details about the current work it is doing to improve performance on consoles. Some of the things they work on are the following: A button to turn motion blur and grain filter on or off, which will reach all platforms. Improvements to how the map loads, general improvements such as thorough optimization, specific troubleshooting, and various other things. The HDR is not available and will not be, they prefer to focus on the free content of the game.

“Right now, the team is looking at possible ways to improve optimization on consoles, but as we hope you understand, these things take time and don't happen at the push of a button. We are examining specific issues that some players have been experiencing and looking for solutions. When we have more information we will inform you through our community channels”, Remedy statement.

On the other hand, the game is involved in a controversy due to its dubbing into Spanish. An unprofessional dubbing, very distant from the quality of the game in general. Those responsible for this dubbing are 505 Games, who commissioned the dubbing to Voice Squad. It seems made by interns or by someone at home with some friends laughing. The best thing would have been to release it in English with subtitles.
