Intel fires Renduchintala and initiates a major restructuring

Brian Krzanich was CEO of Intel until 2018, when he was fired for having relationships with an employee. That would have been a cover to delay reality as much as possible: he was a nefarious manager. His decisions would have been very detrimental to the company, seeing it now. Bob Swan, current CEO of Intel, would be initiating a gigantic internal restructuring, the first being Murthy Renduchintala fired.

Murthy Renduchintala, Director of Engineering leaves the company after undergoing a major restructuring of his division. The Customer Group, Systems Architecture and Technologies is going to be unstructured. Each of the new divisions will have a new task and a new objective. It seeks to stop having a monolithic vision of the design and production of processors.

Intel begins the "day of the beating" and charges Renduchintala

Last week Intel was forced to indicate a delay of at least six months with its 7nm lithograph. It seems that there are problems in the production process, which would be worse than expected. 7nm lithography is crucial for the company in the aftermath of the 10nm disaster. Such are the problems of the company that it has had to turn to TSMC to save the paperwork.

Likewise, the old division in Intel of Renduchintala within Intel becomes as follows after the restructuring:

  • Technology Development
  • Operations and Manufacturing
  • Design engineering
  • Graphics, Software and Architecture
  • Supply chain

Raja Koduri safe at the forefront of Graphics, Software and Architecture, while for the rest new leadership will be given. Ann Kelleher will be in charge of the Technology Development division, or what is the same, of the lithographs. Kelleher has been with the company since 2008 and has overseen the 10nm lithography.

News press

Today, Intel CEO Bob Swan announced the restructuring of the company's technology and executive team to accelerate product leadership and improve focus and accountability in executing manufacturing process technology. Effective immediately, the Technology, Systems Architecture and Customer Group (TSCG) division will be split into the following teams, whose leaders will report directly to the CEO:

Technology Development, led by Dr. Ann Kelleher. An accomplished Intel leader, Kelleher has been Intel's chief manufacturing officer, where she ensured continuity of operations through the COVID-19 pandemic while increasing supply capacity to meet customer needs and accelerating the manufacturing process. 10nm from Intel. He will now lead Intel's technology development with a focus on 7nm and 5nm processes. Dr. Mike Mayberry, who has been leading the development of the technology, will consult and assist with the transition until his planned retirement at the end of the year. Mayberry has a 36-year history of innovation at Intel, during which he has made key contributions in technology development and as a leader in Intel labs.

Manufacturing and Operations, led by Keyvan Esfarjani. Esfarjani most recently led manufacturing for Intel's Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group (NSG), in which role he established the vision and strategy for Intel's memory manufacturing and led a rapid expansion of capacity. He will now lead global manufacturing operations and continue Kelleher's work driving the product ramp and building new manufacturing capacity.

Design Engineering, led by Josh Walden as Intel conducts an accelerated global search to identify a permanent world-class leader. Walden is a proven leader in platform engineering and technology manufacturing. Most recently, he has been leading Intel's Product Assurance and Security Group (IPAS), which will continue to report to him.

Architecture, Software and Graphics will continue to be led by Raja Koduri. Koduri is responsible for leading the development of Intel's architecture and software strategy and portfolio of dedicated graphics products. Under his leadership, we will continue to invest in our software capabilities as a strategic asset and build more software engineering with expertise in clouds, platforms, solutions and services.

The Supply Chain will continue to be led by Dr. Randhir Thakur. Thakur will report directly to the CEO as head of supply chain, recognizing the growing importance of this role and our relationships with key players in the ecosystem. Thakur and his team are charged with ensuring that the supply chain is a competitive advantage for Intel.

As a result of these changes, Murthy Renduchintala will leave Intel on August 3, 2020. (Head of Engineering and President of the Technology, Systems Architecture and Clients Group -TSCG-)
