The new AMD Bristol Ridge APUs have great overclocking potential reaching almost 5GHz
While everyone is waiting for the first ZEN processors called Summit Ridge, the seventh generation of APUs based on the Excavator architecture and called Bristol Ridge continues its journey, and that is where this story comes in, in which a Korean user has made An Overclock to the flagship of these APU's Bristol Ridge, we are talking about the A12-9800 APU.
According to the benchmarks published on hwbot.org , the A12-9800 APU appears to have a serious overclock, far exceeding the overclocking capabilities of the previous generation of Kaveri APU architecture.
The APU has an output specifications of 65W TDP, 4 cores, and works at a base frequency of 3.8 GHz, reaching 4.2 GHz in its turbo mode, it also has an integrated GPU with 512 Stream Processors, distributed in 8CUs and that operate at a frequency of 1108 MHz
The APU tests show a user test using a motherboard, with a B350 chipset, the model in question is an Asus Octopus, plus 8 GB of DDR4 RAM. With these components, the APU has been able to work at 4798.9 MHz with an input voltage of 1.325 V.
Surely this APU can still raise a bit more frequently since the Korean user, according to the photographs, used the AMD series heatsink. This represents very good news for AMD and for users who are waiting for the arrival of the new APU's.
