Lenovo Introduces New Family of ThinkPad Laptops

Lenovo's new complete family of notebooks within its ThinkPad business notebook brand.

Lenovo would have a new batch of ThinkPad notebooks ready. Many will remember the ThinkPad family for being IBM's range of notebook computers, which Lenovo bought a few years ago. These new laptops undergo a major renovation, starting with the operating system that will be Windows 10 Signature Edition in Home and Pro distributions and will not have bloatware. This operating system will arrive without the usual pre-installed programs that only take up space and slow down the computer.

Perhaps one of the highlights is that these notebooks will now have Precision Touchpad technology, ensuring minimal quality in the control system. You want to get a match in one of the strengths of Apple laptops. In addition to these and other changes in hardware (all would use the new Intel Kaby Lake processors) and software, these laptops receive news in terms of design, which will no longer be matt black in its entirety, some models will arrive in silver gray.

Intel Optane

One of the most interesting novelties is that they will have the new Intel SSD units, called Optane, which are based on 3D XPoint technology, which has the great characteristic of being about a thousand times faster than the NAND used in the units. Current SSD and which is also of the non-flying type, which allows this SSD to be used both as a hard disk and as a RAM memory.

It will not be available in all models, only in the T470p, L470, L570, T470 and T570, which would have these new units, but only in a capacity of 16GB. In addition, these laptops mentioned and perhaps some others, will have USB 3.1 Type-C ports, which goes hand in hand with Thunderbolt 3. This would allow connecting external graphics cards to laptops to improve power and performance, among other peripherals.

Lenovo Yoga

We only have evidence of a computer with these characteristics, such as the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 370. This computer will have a 13.3-inch screen and a FullHD resolution. It really is the introduction of a middle ground between the Yoga that are already on the market, apparently designed for professional sectors and home users who want a high-performance, high-performance laptop.

What is most striking about this laptop is that it has a Thunderbolt 2 port, supports a stylus integrated into the screen and a 360º screen rotation, with a minimum weight of 1.44Kg. It will be available in black and silver, will hit the market in March and will be expected to be priced above € 1300.

Lenovo ThinkPad

The first to be highlighted is the T470, with a fingerprint sensor and infrared camera for Windows Hello. The screen will be 14 inches, FullHD resolution and with integrated NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics. It has a 16GB Intel Optane drive and Thunderbolt 3 through a USB 3.1 Type-C port. It can house up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. It would arrive in the USA in February for an initial price of $ 900

We continue with the T570, which has a 15.6-inch screen and we can choose it to be with 4K resolution. We can choose it with 16GB Intel Optane or with an SSD of up to 1TB, it will have a Thunderbolt 3 port and NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics card. It will weigh around two kilograms, will have a numeric keypad and an autonomy of about 21 hours. The starting price will be $ 900 and will arrive in March.

We move on to the T460s, which will have a 14-inch WQHD screen, which is very similar to the previous model in terms of performance, but it will be somewhat lighter, weighing 1.36Kg. This laptop will arrive in gray and black and the autonomy is reduced to eight hours. Nothing is known about its weight and it would hit the market in February.

We go with the T460p, which has a 14-inch screen, which we can choose to be WQHD or FullHD, depending on what we want, but in both cases the graphics card will be the NVIDIA GeForce 940MX and it is foreseeable that it will carry a powerful, quad-core processor surely. This equipment curiously does not have a USB 3.1 Type-C port, so it will not have Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, but the most curious thing is that it will keep the 16GB Intel Optane unit.

There will be a more 'simple' version, with the name of ThinkPad 13, which has a 13-inch FullHD screen, which can be touch, depending on the model. This equipment has the backlit keyboard also as an option to work at night, it will also have a USB 3.1 Type-C port or with an SSD unit of up to 512GB. It will be available initially in the USA, in silver and for a starting price of $ 675.

The latest model will be the X260, which has a 12.5-inch screen with FullHD resolution. It will have a USB 3.1 Type-C port and an SSD drive of up to 512GB. It will have a great autonomy thanks to its extended battery, which gives it up to seventeen hours of autonomy. It will go on sale in March for about $ 900.
