BitPay, one of the most experienced blockchain payment companies, is expanding its XRP support. XRP holders can now use the cryptocurrency to make purchases at all retailers that BitPay partners with. They can also buy gift cards, including Amazon gift cards, with XRP.
The company's co-founder, Tony Gallippi, has already confirmed the positive news. According to Gallippi, users will enjoy XRP support starting next week. Famous retailers such as Burger King, GameStop, DoorDash, Domino's, and Home Depot will also support gift cards purchased on BitPay with XRP.
Support for the third largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization was first announced in October 2019. This came after BitPay partnered with Ripple's investment arm Xpring. Within the partnership, it was going to integrate XRP into its platform so that other companies and merchants could accept the widely discussed cryptocurrency.

BitPay is bullish on XRP, so the new support is not a surprise. Previously, Sean Rolland, BitPay’s chief product officer, called XRP “a fast, cost-effective, and scalable payment option.”
He said :
“Bitpay customers are embracing the promise of blockchain payment technology and with XRP they can offer a payment option that is fast, cost-effective and scalable. The addition of XRP as the next Bitpay-backed blockchain asset expands blockchain options across the payments space.”
The news that BitPay is expanding support for XRP has received positive feedback from both Bitpay users and the community. Despite the focus on the US market, Bitpay promises that gift cards will be available in more than 200 countries around the world.
XRP seems to be on its way to global adoption. The association with BitPay is a major event in the functionality of crypto. However, it is not the only great association that can positively influence the situation.
World expansion
