AMD has shown the new AMD Epyc, which arrive to replace the AMD Naples, the processors intended for servers and advanced computing systems.
Right now the AMD financial event is taking place, where they are taking advantage to get muscle and talk about technologies, products and the market shares they plan to have in 2020, although we will talk about that later. Right now what interests us most is AMD Naples, which is based on AMD Ryzen and will be renamed AMD Epyc. This processor, as you can see in the image, has an extremely considerable size, so much so that it is as big as Lisa Su's hand.
The new AMD platform for the professional market will be renamed AMD Epyc and with it, among other things, we can use it to make weights, because it is an authentic processor asshole. This processor has no less than 128 PCIe lines, which allows you to connect a large number of graphics cards or other cards, to power the system. According to Lisa Su, these Epyc processors will have at least 45% more cores compared to other solutions, will have 122% more bandwidth for memory and offer 60% more bandwidth when it comes to inputs and outputs with respect to its competitors (reference to the Intel LGA 2011).
We do not have more data on Epyc, with the exception of what will have at most a processor with no less than 32 cores and a total of 64 processing threads. We do not know much more about these processors, which will foreseeably be seen during Computex 2017, which is where the new AMD Vega is scheduled to be presented, which according to the latest rumors, should reach stores on June 5, although with an availability, according to rumors, reduced.
