The incident, which happened at the beginning of December 2017, has ended up causing the dismissal of the CEO of the company, Marko Kobal, who is also a co-founder of the NiceHash company. Mark Kobal has stated that: 'As you have noticed, since the most recent security breach, we at NiceHash have been working around the clock to rebuild our internal systems as well as the management structure. I will now step away from my position and allow new management to lead the organization during its next period of growth. Therefore, I have decided to resign as CEO of NiceHash. '

After the incident, Kobal and Skorjanc, recently appointed chief technology officer, posted a video on Facebook, where they explained what happened in the theft of the funds. They also explained that part of Kobal's funds would be sold to an external investor, in order to reimburse everything that had been stolen from users.
