MSI supports Re-Size BAR on its Intel 400 Series chipset motherboards
The first motherboard manufacturer to add support to Re-Size BAR technology was ASUS. Today it was announced by MSI that there is a new BIOS available for Intel 400 Series chipset motherboards that adds support for Re-Size BAR. This will allow users to get a further performance boost without the need to change hardware.
Re-Size BAR technology is the equivalent of AMD SAM technology. This technology is based on the PCIe interface and is not exclusive to AMD, what is more, this technology has been around for a long time. It appears that Intel is helping to integrate support for this technology and according to rumors, NVIDIA is also working on this technology.
