MSI supports Re-Size BAR on its Intel 400 Series chipset motherboards

The first motherboard manufacturer to add support to Re-Size BAR technology was ASUS. Today it was announced by MSI that there is a new BIOS available for Intel 400 Series chipset motherboards that adds support for Re-Size BAR. This will allow users to get a further performance boost without the need to change hardware.

Re-Size BAR technology is the equivalent of AMD SAM technology. This technology is based on the PCIe interface and is not exclusive to AMD, what is more, this technology has been around for a long time. It appears that Intel is helping to integrate support for this technology and according to rumors, NVIDIA is also working on this technology.

It seems that this BIOS adds Re-Size BAR to all MSI motherboards with Intel 400 Series chipset. So all MSI Z490, B460 and H410 motherboards become compatible with Re-Size BAR technology. The new BIOS that adds support for proven Z490 technology will be available this week, according to the company.

All those MSI B460 and H410 chipset motherboards will still have to wait a few weeks. The BIOS specifies that adding Re-Size BAR on these motherboards will still take a few weeks to arrive. You should be attentive to the MSI website to know more.
